Currently, homes account for 40% of all London's emissions of carbon dioxide, the greenhouse gas mainly responsible for global warming.

The average UK household creates approximately 11.6 tonnes of CO₂ each year - about 6 tonnes of that from the house and its appliances.

Our aim is to help every home we visit to reduce their annual emissions by 1 tonne.

That's like saving your share of a 5,900 mile flight - from London to Tokyo in Japan!

Of course some homes and households produce even more CO₂ - bigger, older houses, for example. Here the scope is even greater, so if you have a house like this you can make an even bigger contribution.

Across the city, this will initially save 17,000 tonnes. To put this in perspective, this is enough CO₂ to fill 94 Royal Albert Halls.
